Create Mindset

As my friend was passing the elephants, he suddenly stopped, confused by the fact that these huge creatures were being held by only a small rope tied to their front leg. No chains, no cages. It was obvious that the elephants could, at anytime, break away from the ropes they were tied to but for some reason, they did not. My friend saw a trainer nearby and asked why these beautiful, magnificent animals just stood there and made no attempt to get away.

"Well," he said, "when they are very young and much smaller we use the same size rope to tie them and, at that age, it's enough to hold them. As they grow up, they are conditioned to believe they cannot break away. They believe the rope can still hold them, so they never try to break free." My friend was amazed. These animals could at any time break free from their bonds
but because they believed they couldn't, they were stuck right where they were.
Like the elephants, how many of us go through life hanging onto a belief that we cannot do something, simply because we failed at it once before? So make an attempt to grow further.... Why shouldn't we try it again?
Moral :

"YOUR ATTEMPT MAY FAIL,
BUT NEVER FAIL TO MAKE AN ATTEMPT."

Meditation

The word "meditation" means different things to different people. In the Western philosophic and religious tradition it can simply mean turning an idea or concept over in one's mind. What it has generally come to mean today is some form of clearing or emptying of the mind. A word such as "contemplation" may have been used at other times to mean the process of coming to a central point, focusing and quietening the mind. These practices are often referred to simply as "sitting".

Very often the word "meditation" is associated, in many people's minds, with all bizarre practices involving wearing long robes and sitting on the floor with your legs tied in a knot for hours on end. In short, there is a lot of mystification surrounding the idea of meditation. Meditation is a truly holistic activity in that, ideally, the whole system of body, mind and spirit is involved and benefited.

Dial-up networking

Now that your modem is installed, the next step is to see whether the Dial-Up Networking program is loaded in your computer. You need this program to tell your computer how to connect to an external network. Normally this program is installed when you first install Windows 98. If not, you have to install it manually. Double click on the My Computer icon desktop. When windows opens, see whether the Dial-Up Networking icon is present. If it is, then you don’t need to do anything more. If it is not then double-click the Control Panel icon Double-click the Add/Removal Programs icon. Click the Windows Setup tab to display Components list. Select the communications item by clicking on it. Then click on Details in the dialog window. Make sure there is a checkmark on checkbox next to the Dial-Up Networking component. Then click Ok. After restarting the Dial-Up Networking icon should be present in my computer window.

How To Plant And Care For Shrubs

Caring for both trees and shrubs is basically done in a very similar manner. The one major difference though, is that a tree usually only has one trunk, whereas a shrub can have several stems or trunks. And the planting of both trees and shrubs can be a little different too, so let’s discuss the best way to plant shrubs in your home landscape.

It wasn’t all that long ago that getting shrubs that were not only beautiful but also hardy was difficult to do. But today, there are many more varieties available including hybrids that greatly expand the choices for most do it yourself home landscapers. You can now find appropriate shrubs that provide outstanding color, bloom in various seasons, cover spots that grass simply won’t grow in, and accomplish other purposes in your landscape design, no matter what region of the country you live in.

Shrubs stake out the middle ground in landscaping designs, as they are larger than flowers and yet smaller than trees. So they aid immeasurably in providing a varied and balance landscape theme. They can help soften the lines of a home, they can act as a decorative background for flowers, and they can even hide some things that you don’t want to be seen. On top of that, they add character and shape to a yard, allowing you to trim and cultivate them as you wish. They also tend to be able to grow and reach maturity very rapidly, and last a long time.

To plant shrubs, it’s usually best to choose early spring as the most favorable time. This gives the shrub a good long stretch of favorable weather in which to get well established. If you happen to live in parts of the country that are more mild year-round, you may be able to extend that planting season even into the wintertime. But generally speaking, for most parts of the country, springtime is when you want to start thinking about planting your shrubs for the next year.

The main reason for planting failure is dry roots and there are steps that can be taken to solve that After getting your shrub from the nursery, be sure to water it as soon as you can. It’s often best to keep them in shade at least at first, mulch the ground around them, and you may even decide to prune back the shrub at this point, depending on the age of the plant. The older the shrub, the more it will need to be pruned back initially. That’s why you often come out ahead of the game if you just buy less expensive, smaller shrubs to begin with. And although some plants like forsythia and azaleas can be moved while they are in flower, you should wait to move most shrubs until the flowering is done.

For some shrubs, who lose leaf moisture in the wintertime, you will need to be sure to water in the fall before the ground freezes. These include azaleas, rhododendron, and certain broadleaf evergreens.

Some folks are very hesitant to prune shrubs, but actually this helps keep them young and vigorous. Try to prune out the older branches first, and cut as close to the ground as you can. Many shrubs need pruning almost every year, especially if they have dead branches left over from wintertime, such as hydrangeas, deutzias, and privets. Others just need to head their flower heads pruned off after blooming like azaleas, magnolias and rhododendron.

With just a little bit of time and attention as mentioned above, you can insure that your shrubs stay looking beautiful year in and year out, and always reflect well on your landscaping design.

Gardening With Small Greenhouses – Indoor Or Outdoor

You can grow almost anything at almost anytime in a greenhouse, so greenhouses make invaluable tools for any gardener. However, many gardeners have limited space and can’t erect a large greenhouse. There are now small greenhouses available on the market that cater to people who want to grow plants and veggies in a tight space. You can even use some of these small greenhouses inside your home!

How Small is Small?

You can make a greenhouse almost any size, as long as you can get the necessary plants and equipment into it. However, with small greenhouses, you are going to have to consider things that aren’t factors in a larger space. Temperature becomes harder to regulate the smaller you go. If you want to have a freestanding but smaller greenhouse structure in your yard, you would want to size the greenhouse to be similar to a storage shed. This will allow you to enter it and grow several varieties of plants, but would not take up your entire yard.

When you move into the realm of indoor greenhouses, however, you are looking at a whole other list of considerations. The size of small greenhouses for indoor use depends more upon the space available than anything else. Small greenhouses for indoors can range in size from the size of a bathtub to the size of a small aquarium. You can even get a window box greenhouse.

Modifications for Size

The difficulty with temperature regulation in small greenhouses should be dealt with in order to develop a strong growing environment. In your home, you have already have the ability to control temperature, and this can help greatly with an indoor greenhouse. If you have an outdoor greenhouse, you should install a heater for cold months and make sure there is ample ventilation during warm times. You might have purchased a smaller greenhouse to save cost. But if you really just didn’t have the space for a large green house and aren’t worried about cost, then go all out with accessories on your greenhouse to promote the best growing conditions.

To optimize your greenhouse use, place an outside greenhouse in an area that gets plentiful sunlight. Greenhouses should never be placed in the shade, especially small greenhouses. Placing a greenhouse in the shade is almost akin to wasting all the time and money you put into the greenhouse, because without ample sunlight, your plants won’t grow very well. With a small greenhouse, you are already at a disadvantage with temperature and space considerations, so you need to make sure that you take every opportunity to help your plants grow.
