March has been considered a Fire Prevention Month. It is because during the month of March, there are high incidence of houses getting burned down and high occurrences of destructions that are fire related. Loss of properties and lives have been taken as tolls to this fierce fiend of the society. Years back, March is noted to be the start of summer feeling because it is really seering hot. But not for this year, it is cold. Heavy rains still continue to pour flooding the streets and raging the waves of the rivers and seas. At least for this year, there will be a reduction of houses downed with fire. And a reduction of losses in properties and lives. However, since the properties and lives at stake here is ours and our family’s, safety measures shall still have to be ensured. Putting off the gas, unplugging electronic equipment when not in use, checking the gas regulator and putting off candles and not allowing it to stay on when asleep are just few but helpful tips to avoid the destructions of fire. And, March is about reminding people about the hazards of fire.
